So after you’ve gone Gold with your Xbox Live, you were able to get a good haul of games and other features following the membership. Of course, your membership does have an expiration date in which you have to pay again to renew it. Now, this begs the question as to what happens to your account when you don’t renew. Obviously, you’ll lose your Gold membership but you can try free Xbox live codes and this works for many users including me. We’ll discuss some of the things that’ll happen when you lose your Xbox Live Gold.
Online Multiplayer Mode
This is the first thing that you’re going to lose when you lose your Gold membership. As a Gold member, you are offered an online Multiplayer Mode for Xbox which allows you to play along with other players in an online platform. When you lose your Gold subscription, you will be locked out of the online multiplayer mode unless you pay for the subscription of the membership again.
When you’re a Gold member, there are certain games that you can download only as a Gold member. If you’re subscribed, you can freely play those games any time you want to by just accessing your account. Now, there are a lot of people who are concerned about whether they’d lose their downloaded games if they are no longer a Gold member. Well, the answer to that is no.
Even if you’re no longer a Gold member, you won’t lose the games from your account. However, you won’t be able to access them unless you renew. Those games that are Xbox Live Gold exclusive will be locked until you pay the renewal fee. Just to give you an idea, the games that you won’t be able to access if you’re not a Gold member are the Xbox One games. The Xbox 360 games will still be there for you to play.
Account Locked Out
On a normal basis, your account won’t be locked out if you don’t pay the renewal. In fact, you can renew anytime you want and still get the same privileges that you had before your account expired. However, there would be an exception if you used a credit card for your subscribing and the credit card expires.
For instance, if you subscribe to the Gold membership sometime in March and your credit card expired in April, you might be locked out of your account. The best remedy for this problem would be to always update your credit card details so that you can enjoy the privileges of an Xbox Live Gold member and access your account freely.
Basically, those are some of the things that would happen if you lose your Xbox Live Gold. Even if you lose it because you didn’t renew membership, you won’t lose anything in your account. You just won’t have access to it, such as the online multiplayer function and the GwG games. Once you renew your account, you get everything back again. With that said, you don’t really have to worry if you’re not able to pay for your subscription in the next month. Just renew it whenever you can.
